Course Overview
This course focus on the federal health privacy law, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), and what it takes to comply with it. This course focuses on privacy and data protection in action, specifically using HIPAA as the framework, and focuses on the threats to data security and the processes that exist for dealing with a data breach. A better understanding of HIPAA security and privacy laws will enable you to protect your organization and the constituents that depend on your organization to safeguard their personal information.
